2023 Hazardous Waste & Electronics Collection

September 23rd, 2023  8 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center 29270 County Highway G, Ashland WI 

Fee Items

The items below will be accepted at the collection event for a fee
  • $1.00 per circular bulb (CFL)
  • $1.00 per 4' or less tube
  • $1.50 per 4' and longer tube
  • $2.50 per shatter shield tube
  • $4.50 per tanning bed/UV bulb
  • $2.00 per H.I.D. light bulb
  • $2.00 LED bulb any size
  • Lithium Ion Batteries $5 lb
  • Lithium Metal Batteries $6 lb
  • All other batteries $1 lb

Electronics Collection Will Accept:

Cable Boxes, Cables & Cords, Cameras, TVs*, Camcorders, Cell Phones & Chargers, Clocks, Coffee Makers, Copiers, Printers, Scanners, Fax Machines, Desktop Compute Towers, Docking Stations, DVD/VHS/Blue-Ray players, External Drives, Fans, Hair Dryers, Holiday Lights, Ink & Toner Cartridges, Landline Phones, Laptops, Monitors, iPods, Microwaves, Projectors, Radios, Satellite Dishes & Receivers, Servers, Solar Panels, Stereos & Speakers, Toasters, UPS & Jump Starters, Vacuum Cleaners, Video Game Consoles & Controllers.

Electronics Collection Will Not Accept:

Smoke Detectors, Battery-Containing Devices, Gas Cylinders, Liquids, Medical & Radioactive Waste, Vape Pens, and any *TVs or Monitors that are taken apart or salvaged. 


Clean Sweep will accept:
Household hazardous waste will be accepted. Items will be taken for free from residential properties, with the exception of fees charged for bulbs and batteries. Acceptable items include materials such as; oil-based paints, aerosol spray paints and lubricants, solvents, pesticides, fertilizers, household and hazardous cleaners, corrosives, flammables, mercury, lead tackle and shot, old gas, antifreeze, and other chemicals you wouldn't consider dumping. Mercury containing thermostats, switches and thermometers, and lead based paint will also be accepted.

Clean Sweep will NOT accept:
Latex paint, empty paint cans, oil filters, motor oil, explosives, flares or fireworks, Freon 11 & 12, radioactive materials including smoke/Co2 alarms, ammunition, compressed gas cylinders of any size, recyclables, appliances, asbestos, biological or infectious wastes, sharps or EpiPen's, spray foam cylinders, incandescent light bulbs, PFAS containing items.
