TAKE ACTION: Hearing on Long-Term Care November 18
A November 18 informational hearing presents another opportunity for you to educate your legislator about what is important to you about long-term care supports for people with disabilities and older adults in Wisconsin. The Assembly has scheduled an informational hearing with invited testimony from experts – which means that there will be no testimony from the public at this hearing. But there are still important ways for you to get involved!
Here’s what you can do:
• Call or email your legislator TODAY and ask them to attend this hearing. (Find your legislator and his/her phone number by entering your address on this site: http://legis.wisconsin.gov/ )
• Attend or Listen to the hearing yourself (it will be broadcast on WisconsinEye: http://www.wiseye.org) and take notes. What recommendations from the experts do you feel strongly about?
• Follow-up with your legislator after the hearing and ask them to make recommendations about long-term care directly to the Department of Health Services. Ask them to represent YOU and your voice!
