What are some things that people may not know about camping in Bayfield County?
Something that a lot of people don’t realize is that you can camp on county and national forest land that is not in a developed area for free – you just have to pack out what you pack in. There are some limits to that, but you can find out more online.

Stay tuned – the county is going to be building 2 yurts that will be available to rent out later this summer – one on Mt. Ashwabay with a view of Lake Superior and the other in Cable. Both of them are on bike/ski trails so that you can get to them in any season, but they are off the beaten path. They’ll have bunks and a woodstove – it should be awesome!
