Do you have old, unwanted chemicals stored in your closet, basement, garage, shed, barn or business? Wonder where you can get rid of them? Area residents, farmers, small businesses, governmental units and schools will have an opportunity to properly dispose of unwanted hazardous chemicals at a number of Clean Sweep collection events this summer.
The Bayfield County Clean Sweep collections will be held on Saturday, July 15
in Washburn at the Bayfield County Highway Garage from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and
in Iron River at the Iron River Community Center from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
There is no charge to households and farms (first 200 lbs.) for hazardous chemicals, except for fluorescent light bulbs and oil filters. Businesses, governmental units and schools are required to preregister and are charged a disposal fee.
Selected electronic equipment can be disposed of at the collections for a fee or free of charge depending on the item. Residents can also bring unwanted medications free of charge. Please check the flyer to see what is and is NOT allowed.
