Attorney David Webb will start the evening out with a
presentation entitled “Trusts, Using a Corporate Trustee” for all participants.
After the keynote presentation by Attorney Webb, there will
be several “break-out” sessions presented by our local attorneys. These shorter presentations will be
approximately 30 minutes in length, and participants will be able to travel
from one session to another to hear as many of the presentations as they would
like to hear. The shorter break-out
sessions will include the following subjects:
“Business Succession Planning for Families” presented by
Attorney David Webb;
“Will Preparation and Planning for Transfer of Assets
without Probate” presented by Attorney Linda Coleman;
“Introduction to Nursing Home Planning and Medicaid, Marital
Property and Spousal Impoverishment “ presented by Attorney Ryan Long with the
Bayfield County Department of Human Services Staff Carrie Linder and Lindi
Olson presenting on specific services that
are available;
“Managing Risk of Unpredictable Events” presented by
Attorney Paul Sturgul;
“Powers of Attorney, Guardianship and Protective Placement”
presented by Attorney John Carlson;
“Special Needs Trusts” presented by Julia Veenendaal.
This is the fifth year the Registers in Probate for Ashland
and Bayfield Counties are sponsoring this program for our local residents. Refreshments will be offered by the court
staff during this program.
