WHAT IS CARBON MONOXIDE?
Carbon monoxide is a gas that can’t be seen or smelled and is made when fuels—like gas, kerosene, propane or wood—are burned.
It’s the most common cause of deadly poisonings. Bayfield County residents are at a much higher risk of CO poisoning because many of us use wood, propane and fuel oil in our homes. Outdoor enthusiasts who recreate in the winter months for hunting, fishing or winter camping are also at high risk from their heating sources.
