Who is a Master Gardener?

A Master Gardener is a trained volunteer who aids University of Wisconsin Extension Staff by helping people in the community better understand horticulture and their environment.

Master Gardeners help educate local community members in applying horticultural science to manage their landscapes and gardens in a science-based, sustainable manner

  UW-Extension is pleased to announce the 2018 Master Gardener General Training Course.

The course will be held over eleven training sessions between January and March at the Ashland Campus of Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College (WITC) Room 307. Achieving Master Gardener Certification requires attending all the training sessions, passing the final exam and completing 24 hours of volunteer service within one year of completing the training course.

The cost for the full Master Gardener General Certification Course is $60/person which includes the Master Gardener Training Manual and gardening publications. The cost for two people is $100 if sharing materials. Scholarships are available. Enrollment for the class is limited to 20.
