BAYFIELD COUNTY APPLICANT BRIEFING SCHEDULED
Wisconsin Emergency Management has announced the schedule for Applicant Briefings related to public infrastructure damage from the storms beginning June 15, 2018.
The applicant briefing for Bayfield County is scheduled for Thursday, August 23rd – 9:00 am – Bayfield County EOC – 117 E Sixth St, Washburn (Courthouse Annex).
At the applicant briefing, Wisconsin and Federal emergency management staff will outline the various programs available, answer questions, and discuss projects with any potential applicants. Eligible applicants include the following:
- State agencies
- County government agencies (e.g. Highways, Forestry, Parks, etc.)
- Municipal governments
- Town governments
- Tribal organizations
- Private non-profit organizations (now to include Houses of Worship)
- Institutions of higher education
- School districts
- Electrical cooperatives
“This applicant briefing is intended to provide information to local governments, public cooperatives and private non-profit organizations that incurred damage to infrastructure during the June storms,” stated Jan Victorson, Director of Emergency Management for Bayfield County. “We are encouraging all jurisdictions and organizations to attend. This briefing is the first step in the application process for federal and state disaster aid.”
