The Wisconsin Department of
Health Services (DHS) announced that funding for February benefits will be
available for current FoodShare members, those participating in the Women,
Infants and Children (WIC) program, The Emergency Food Assistance Program
(TEFAP), and the Commodity Supplemental Food Program, despite the federal
government shutdown. If you are currently enrolled
in FoodShare, your normal February FoodShare benefits may be put on your QUEST
card as early as January 20, 2019. This early issuance is due to the
federal government shutdown. This is not an extra benefit. The
amount will be your normal February monthly benefit amount. FoodShare
benefits will not be put on your QUEST card in February, so please budget and
plan accordingly.
Issuance
of FoodShare benefits for March will depend on the resolution of the federal
government shutdown.
Up-to-date information will be available at: DHS Wisconsin FoodShare.
Note: The government shutdown does not affect health care
programs like BadgerCare Plus, Medicaid, and SeniorCare at this time.
