Starting in 2019, the academy is allowing greater flexibility in the promotion of healthy messages and feels this will accommodate the diverse areas by allowing the National Nutrition Month to be honored as its own theme. Meaning each Academy member can select their own educational piece to focus on.
Eat Right for Your Lifestyle
There is not one set diet that is right for everyone, so it is important to follow a healthy eating plan that is packed with nutritious and tasty foods that keep your unique lifestyle in mind.
Are you constantly on the go?
- Purchase ready to go foods such as: whole fruits/veggies, low sodium soups, canned tuna in water, whole grain bread and peanut butter.
- Prepare large portions of protein foods and grains to have and take with you throughout the week.
Do you have a sedentary job that lead to mindless snacking?
- Pack 2 to 3 snacks for each day, plan your snacks around a specific time if you feel you tend to eat when you are not hungry.
- Talk with your coworkers about your nutrition goals, have them help hold you accountable.
If you need help making a plan, contact your physician, a registered dietitian or therapist to help you make the changes you need to improve your health.
