[ARCHIVED] 2020 Seasonal Camping Sites Open!

DSCN2184

The seasonal site selection process will change this year. Instead of the traditional call in for reservations, we will be implementing a random selection for 2020 seasonal campsites, at both Twin Bear and Delta Lake. The random process will establish the selection order. Below is how it will work:

  • Anyone interested in a seasonal campsite for the 2020 season, at either Twin Bear or Delta Lake, must submit the following information:
  • Name of the applicant. We will only accept one application per family/party, unless the intent is to reserve more than one campsite. Only the person paying for the site can apply.
  • Primary contact phone number.
  • Campground of interest (Twin Bear and/or Delta Lake).
  • If you have interest in a boat mooring space (yes or no).
  • The information must be submitted to the campground manager, Brenda Garrett, by phone (715-209-8423), email (brengarrett7@gmail.com), text or in person.
  • The deadline for application will be 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 2019.
  • After the application period, Brenda will compile all of the applicants and distribute to the Bayfield County Forestry and Parks Department Recreation Forester, Jen Bratsch.
  • Jen will develop a database with all of the provided information.
  • Jen will then create individual cards for each applicant, print them off, and cut them into equally sized tabs. Each tab will then be folded identically to conceal the name.
  • At 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019, all tabs will be placed in a bowl, shuffled, and selected, one at a time, at random, to establish the order of seasonal campsite selection. For example, the name on the first tab pulled will be listed as number 1, the second name pulled will be number 2 and so on. The process will be followed until the last tab is pulled. The selection process will occur on the porch at Twin Bear.
  • Once all tabs have been pulled and the order of selection generated, Brenda will immediately make calls to the primary contact name listed on the application. Starting with number 1 on the list and continuing until the last name is addressed.
  • The calls will come from the landline at Twin Bear (715-372-8610). Please, do not call this number to check on the status. Brenda will call you based on the order of selection.
  • If you are not available when the call is placed, you will be given three (3) minutes to call back. If we do not hear from you during those three minutes, we will assume you no longer have interest, you will lose your place and Brenda will move to the next person on the list.
  • When you’re called, Brenda will work with you to find a seasonal campsite. Please have a list of sites ready prior to the call. Depending on your order on the list, many popular campsites may have already been selected, so it would be good to have numerous sites in mind.
  • You will only be allowed to reserve one campsite. At either Twin Bear or Delta. Multiple selections will not be allowed. And you can’t reserve a site for someone else.
  • You can also reserve a boat mooring space during the same call, but only if slots are still available. Again, only one mooring site reservation will be allowed.
  • If you are already at the campground during the selection period, when it’s your turn on the list, you can go through the process directly with Brenda, rather than over the phone.
  • Once all names on the list have been addressed, any sites still available will be offered on a first come, first served basis.
  • Seasonal prices will remain $1,550.00 for regular sites and $1,650.00 for premium.
  • Seasonal mooring prices will remain at $265.00.
  • A separate, fully refundable site cleaning deposit of $100.00 will also still be required. If you had a seasonal site this year and also reserved one for next year, you can choose to carry the cleaning deposit over. Please let Brenda know when making the reservation for 2020.
  • A non-refundable reservation deposit of $200.00 will be due within 30 days of making the seasonal camping reservation. This deposit will be subtracted from the total amount due.
  • A non-refundable reservation deposit of $50.00 will be due within 30 days of making the boat mooring reservation. This deposit will be subtracted from the total amount due.
  • The remaining balance will be due on Friday, March 27, 2020. Reminders will be sent a few months before the due date.
